Enable / Disable Task Manager In Windows
Disabled task manager causes you very much trouble sometimes.So here is the relief.
Open Registry Editor
Obviously u all know how to open registry .... for some of you here is how :- Windows xp and vista - goto start > all programs> run > [here type regedit.exe and hit enter]
- Windows 7 - goto start and just type in that search box regedit.exe and hit enter...
- Now you might be asked for confirmation ... click yes .
Edit the registry
>>Now its the turn to edit the registry : follow this in registry left panHKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\System
>>now when u click on system in left pan , there will be some keys in right pan ... look for a keyDisableTaskMgr , and delete that.. now you will have your task manager back ;-)
How to disable task manager
Now if you are the admin of any system and want to disable the task manager... follow these steps:- open registry editor
- navigate to following key :
>> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
>> HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System - ADD system if its not there
- then in the right side pan , create a DWORD value .. name is as DisableTaskMgr
- Now double click on it and set the value to 1
[PS : to enable it again change .. change the value to 0]
